This engaging Governance 101 workshop is perfect for sporting clubs, community groups, or any community members eager to prepare for their upcoming AGM or improve committee operations. Led by an experienced facilitator, the session breaks down committee roles and responsibilities clearly to ensure your team is set up for success.
You will gain practical knowledge to strengthen your committee structure, clarify roles, and build a solid governance foundation that supports your organisation’s projects and long-term goals. This is an excellent opportunity to empower new or incoming committee members with essential governance skills.
Expect a friendly and supportive environment where you can ask questions and network with others who share your commitment to effective community leadership.
The workshop will cover key topics including understanding the roles and responsibilities of committee and board members, building a well-structured and accountable committee, and supporting new members with practical governance knowledge.
The session runs for two and a half hours, starting promptly at 5:30 pm and concluding at 8:00 pm. Light snacks will be provided to keep you refreshed throughout the evening.
This event is suitable for all ages and is designed to be accessible for anyone involved in community or sporting committees.
The workshop will be held in the Makuru Room at the Town of Victoria Park Administration Building, located at 99 Shepperton Road, Victoria Park.
Active transport is encouraged, with bike racks available for cyclists. There are convenient bus stops nearby for public transport users. For those driving, ample parking is available behind the building with access from Shepperton Road.
The venue is easily accessible and provides a comfortable setting for learning and networking.
