Across the year, Heritage Hill Museum and Historic Gardens warmly invites families to connect with local heritage through four seasonal Community Open Days. These events offer a wonderful opportunity to explore the rich stories and changing gardens of Greater Dandenong while engaging in activities suitable for all ages.
Each Open Day is themed around unique exhibitions and community stories. The April event celebrates community creativity and identity inspired by The Maze: Past, Present and Legacy exhibition. Families can enjoy creative workshops, discovery trails, picnicking, storytelling, and hands-on exploration throughout the gardens and historic houses. Children and adults alike will have the chance to design maze panels, contribute to collaborative artworks, and decorate memory tiles reflecting personal journeys and cultures.
This free event runs from 10:00 to 14:00 and includes music, art-making, and interactive activities that highlight how community voices bring people together. It is suitable for families with school-aged children looking for a fun, educational outing that celebrates local heritage and creativity. Bookings are recommended but drop-ins are also welcome.
