This winter, Moseley Square transforms into a lively, colorful playground filled with sound and energy. HEXADECA is a large-scale interactive installation that invites you and your family to step inside the artwork and become part of the music-making experience.
As you move, spin, or sway on the glowing, spinning seats, you trigger unique sounds and lights, creating a collective musical composition. This playful and inclusive installation is designed for all ages and abilities, making it perfect for families looking for a creative and engaging outing.
Whether your children dive in to play or you simply pause to enjoy the spectacle, HEXADECA offers a joyful and memorable way to connect through creativity and movement.
HEXADECA is presented by Pulsing Heart, a creative studio known for large-scale participatory art installations. The installation features a cluster of glowing seats that respond to movement by activating light and sound, building an evolving musical score with each participant.
This interactive experience encourages collaboration and shared moments of play, turning public space into a stage for discovery and joy. It was commissioned by WOMADelaide and has toured Australia, receiving critical acclaim and a Merit Award at the 2022 Designers Australia Awards.
The installation is free to attend and suitable for all ages and abilities, making it an ideal winter activity for families wanting to explore art in a tactile and immersive way.
