Dive into the exciting world of music production with Ignite's beginner course designed especially for young musicians eager to create original tracks. Guided by experienced producers, participants will explore industry-standard software and develop essential skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.
This course introduces Ableton Live 12, covering audio editing, MIDI sequencing, sound design, and music theory basics. Whether your child is dreaming of producing beats or composing full songs, this course offers a comprehensive foundation.
Participants will also have the chance to connect with peers who share their passion, fostering creativity and collaboration throughout the program.
The course runs weekly on Thursdays from 15:30 to 17:30, starting February 19, 2026, and continuing through April 2, 2026. It is tailored for teens and young adults aged 14 to 25 years.
Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops, but computers are available if needed. The curriculum covers:
- Introduction to Ableton Live 12 interface and workflow
- Audio recording, editing, MIDI sequencing, drum programming, effects, and automation
- Synthesis, sound design, sampling, and basic music theory
- Arrangement and composition techniques to build complete tracks
Please note that the program does not operate on Western Australian public holidays.
Classes are held at The Underground, located at 2 Holmes Street, Southern River, WA 6110. This venue is accessible and designed to provide a comfortable learning environment for young creatives.
Parents can easily drop off and pick up their children at this central location. Parking and public transport options are available nearby.
Health and safety are priorities; participants should not attend if unwell. To maintain a quality experience and safety, registration limits are enforced.

The course is specifically for ages 14-25; enrolments outside this range will be cancelled.
