Dive into a unique creative development program designed especially for young people aged 13 to 19. This initiative by Blue Joy Theatre Co. invites teens to collaborate with early-career and underrepresented artists to create new theatre works for youth audiences.
Participants will engage in facilitated workshops where they can share their ideas, stories, and lived experiences to shape an original performance. There is no expectation to perform unless chosen, making it a welcoming space for all young creatives.
This program emphasizes youth-led storytelling, collaboration, and mentorship, offering a supportive environment to explore drama, music, poetry, and theatre.
The workshop runs on Saturday, 26 April 2026, from 12:30 to 14:30. It is free to attend and open to young people passionate about theatre and storytelling.
A live performance, developed from the workshop material, will be shown on Sunday, 3 May 2026, from 13:00 to 15:00. A Year 12 student will be embedded as both collaborator and performer, helping to bring the stories to life.
Participants must be available for both the workshop and the showing to take part fully.
The exact location will be provided soon, ensuring accessibility for young people in the Victoria Park area. The event is hosted by Blue Joy Theatre Co., a community-focused theatre company.
The venue will be suitable for youth audiences and designed to foster creativity and collaboration.
Further details will be communicated to participants upon registration.
This opportunity is ideal for teens interested in drama, music, poetry, theatre, and storytelling.
There is no cost to participate, making it accessible to all young people who want to engage in theatre-making.
