What to Expect
Dive into the exciting world of 3D design with this beginner-friendly workshop tailored for adults and teens aged 16 and over. You’ll get hands-on experience with Blender, a powerful and free 3D creation software widely used in animation, game design, and digital art.
This session is designed to build your confidence as you learn to create and manipulate basic 3D shapes, apply textures, and render scenes. By the end, you’ll have a solid foundation to explore more advanced 3D design, environment modelling, or animation.
Whether you’re curious about digital art or considering a new creative hobby, this workshop offers a welcoming environment to start your 3D journey.
Activity Details
The workshop runs for three hours on Saturday, 28 February 2026, from 10:30 to 13:30. It is suitable for beginners with no prior experience required. The class size is limited to 8 participants to ensure personalized guidance.
Participants will learn how to navigate Blender’s interface and toolset, basics of 3D modelling and sculpting, and how to texture, light, and render models. Enclosed shoes and no loose clothing or jewellery are required for safety.
Parental permission is necessary for attendees under 18 years old. The cost is $40 for general admission and $33 for concession holders.
Location and Access
This workshop takes place at Darling Square Library, Levels 1 and 2, The Exchange, 1 Little Pier Street, Haymarket NSW 2000, specifically in the Level 1 Makerspace.
The venue is accessible via public transport and offers a creative, well-equipped space perfect for hands-on learning. Directions are available on the City of Sydney website.

Important Information
Bookings are essential due to the limited class size and can be cancelled up to 7 days before the event for a refund. Cancellations made within 7 days of the workshop will not be refunded.
This workshop is part of a series of introductory 3D design workshops, including courses on CAD and game development.
Please wear enclosed shoes and avoid loose-fitting clothing or jewellery for safety during the session.
