Dive into the creative world of screen printing with this fun, hands-on workshop designed for beginners. No prior drawing or art experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and creativity. You'll learn how to print your own designs on fabric, guided step-by-step by Silvia from Ink + Oranges.
Throughout the session, you'll cut your stencil and print your first design, gaining practical skills and inspiration to continue printing at home. The workshop provides fabric, a tote bag, and a poster for you to print on, and you are welcome to bring additional items to personalize.
Screenprinting kits will be available for purchase after the workshop, so you can keep the creative fun going long after the event ends.
This workshop runs for three hours, offering a relaxed and engaging environment for parents and children alike to explore screen printing. It is perfect for those looking to try a new craft or enjoy a creative outing in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.
You will be guided through each stage of the screen printing process, ensuring you leave with your own printed creations and the confidence to experiment further.
The session is held at The Summit Community Centre, a welcoming venue with accessible facilities including disabled access, toilets, and a kitchen.
The workshop takes place at 4 Crescent Dr, Norton Summit SA 5136, Australia, nestled in the scenic Adelaide Hills. Parking is limited at the community centre, so carpooling is encouraged. Additional parking is available along Crescent Drive near Norton Summit Primary School and behind the Norton Summit CFS.
The venue is fully accessible with a disabled car park, access ramp, and disabled toilets. It is an inclusive space, welcoming all community members including LGBTQI+ families and those with special needs.
Public transport options are limited, so planning your trip by car is recommended. The community centre is equipped with baby change facilities and a welcoming atmosphere for families.
Please note that if an Extreme 75+ or Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating is declared for the Mt Lofty Ranges, the community centre will close and all classes will be cancelled without notice. Paid fees will be reimbursed or the course rescheduled.
Bring any items you wish to print on, and dress comfortably for the workshop. If the event runs into cooler weather, layers and an umbrella are advisable.
The centre provides tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and water, along with facilities to warm baby bottles and heat meals.
Tickets are priced at $35 per person and must be booked online in advance. This fee covers all materials provided during the workshop, including fabric, a tote bag, and a poster.
Screenprinting kits will be available for purchase after the event for those interested in continuing their new craft at home.
