Activity Details
Iwagumi Air Scape runs from 26 September to 11 October 2026, open daily from 11:00 until 22:00, except on the final day when it closes at 16:00. The installation is suitable for all ages, making it an ideal outing for families looking to inspire wonder and creativity in their children.
Visitors can expect to spend time wandering through the inflatable rock formations, enjoying the interactive soundscape, and experiencing the magical transition from daylight to a luminous night display. The event is part of the Wild Things festival and is completely free to attend.
Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult at all times, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Location and Access
The installation is located on the Forecourt of the Sydney Opera House, set below the iconic white sails and adjacent to the Royal Botanic Gardens. This accessible outdoor space offers wheelchair access and is easily reached by public transport, including bus, train, ferry, and light rail, with a 7-10 minute walk from Circular Quay.
For those driving, the Sydney Opera House Car Park operated by Wilson Parking is available, with discounted rates if booked in advance. Pram parking is also provided, making it convenient for families with young children.
The Forecourt's open-air setting allows visitors to enjoy the fresh air and stunning surroundings while engaging with the artwork.
