Discover a welcoming and safe environment designed for individuals experiencing anxiety to connect and share their experiences. Whether you want to talk, listen, or simply feel less alone, this group offers a supportive community space.
These sessions are facilitated by Wayahead and are open to all community members seeking peer support for anxiety. It’s a chance to gain understanding and comfort from others who truly get what you’re going through.
Please note, these groups are not suitable for individuals experiencing severe mental distress such as psychosis, severe depression, or active PTSD.
The support group meets monthly on the second Saturday from 11:00 to 13:00. Each session provides a structured yet relaxed atmosphere where participants can share and learn coping strategies.
Attendance is free of charge, making it accessible for everyone in the community who needs support.
The sessions focus on peer support rather than clinical therapy, encouraging mutual understanding and connection.
The meetings take place at the Katoomba Guides Hall, located at 17 Station Street, Katoomba. This central location is easy to find and accessible via local transport.
The venue is community-friendly and provides a comfortable setting for open discussions.
Parking and public transport options are available nearby, making it convenient for attendees.
These groups are intended for those experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and are not a substitute for professional mental health treatment.
If you are currently experiencing high levels of distress or severe mental health issues, please seek appropriate clinical support.
Participation is voluntary, and confidentiality is respected within the group.
No booking is required to attend these free support group sessions.
Simply arrive at the venue on the scheduled date and time.
