Keeping Kids Safe: Preventing Sexual Harm and Violence
A free four-week parenting program to help prevent sexual violence and support respectful conversations with young people.
What to Expect
This engaging program offers parents and caregivers a supportive environment to learn how to keep young people safe from sexual harm and violence. Over four interactive sessions, you will gain confidence discussing consent, sexuality, and gender inequality with your children.
Each session builds on the last, encouraging ongoing participation to maximize benefits. The program welcomes parents of Year 7 and 8 students, but is open to others interested in fostering respectful relationships.
You will have opportunities to connect with other parents, ask questions, and reflect on your role in shaping a culture of consent.
Activity Details
The course runs weekly on Tuesdays from 6:00pm to 8:30pm over four consecutive weeks starting 2026-02-17. Sessions cover Victorian consent laws, positive ways to talk about sexuality, and how to support your child’s learning at school.
Additional learning resources and catering are provided, along with door prizes to encourage participation. The program is inclusive of all faiths, cultures, and life experiences.
If you need assistance to participate, support is available upon request.
