Join the Kentlyn Bushcare volunteer group to help protect local bushland and learn about native wildlife and plants.

If you have a passion for the outdoors and want to learn more about local waterways, birds, insects, plants, and wildlife, Kentlyn Bushcare offers a wonderful opportunity to get involved. This volunteer group focuses on preserving the beautiful bushland of Kentlyn through practical environmental work.

What to Expect

You will join like-minded people in engaging activities such as removing invasive weeds like lantana, tree planting, erosion control, litter removal, and wildlife spotting. No prior experience is needed as all training and tools are provided. This is a great way for families and individuals to contribute positively to the environment while gaining new skills.

Activity Details

The group meets regularly on Tuesdays from February to December, with new members gathering at 9:00 AM on the first Tuesday of each month. Activities take place across multiple sites in the endangered Shale-Sandstone Transition Forest areas. Volunteers participate in hands-on conservation work that supports local biodiversity and ecosystem health.

Location and Access

Meetings start at Keith Longhurst Reserve, Georges River Road, Kentlyn 2560. The reserve is accessible by car and offers parking nearby. This location serves as the main gathering point before heading out to various bushland sites for the day's activities.
