Discover the joy of communication through Key Word Signing (KWS) in these engaging classes designed for children, parents, and carers. Using Auslan, these sessions make learning accessible and fun, helping families bring signing into everyday life.
Each class is filled with playful activities including toys, puppets, songs, stories, and interactive play that encourage children to learn and use KWS naturally. The sessions are tailored to different age groups, ensuring age-appropriate learning and engagement.
You can expect a warm, supportive environment where both children and adults learn together, fostering communication and connection. Debbie, the instructor, guides you through practical ways to incorporate signing into daily routines.
Classes run on the last Wednesday of each month (except December) from February through November 2026. There are three time slots available:
- 9:15am to 10:00am for ages 0-3 years
- 10:15am to 11:00am for ages 0-3 years
- 11:15am to 12:00pm for children aged 3 years and above
Bookings are essential, and all children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is $3 per session, non-refundable.
The classes take place at 27 Sussex Street, East Victoria Park, within the Town of Victoria Park Library. The venue is accessible and family-friendly, making it easy for parents and carers to attend with their children.
Public transport options and parking are available nearby, ensuring convenient access for families from the local community and surrounding areas.
Please note that bookings are essential to secure your place in the class. Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the session.
The sessions are designed to be inclusive and supportive, welcoming families new to signing as well as those looking to build on existing skills. Remember to arrive a few minutes early to settle in before the session starts.
Each session costs $3 per child, which is non-refundable. To book your preferred date and time, please use the online booking system provided by the Town of Victoria Park Library.
