This relaxed and inclusive workshop is designed especially for children with disability and their families, providing a welcoming sensory-friendly environment. Inspired by the Near at Hand: Dobell Australian Drawing Biennial 2026 exhibition, children will explore what 'near at hand' means to them through creative expression.
Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the people, places, objects, memories, and imaginary worlds that are important to them. The workshop encourages self-expression and imagination in a supportive setting.
Children will experiment with a variety of tactile materials such as feathers, textured paper, fabric, foil, string, and coloured pencils to create a playful drawing collage representing their own 'my world.'
The workshop runs on Tuesday 29 September 2026 with three sessions at 10:30, 12:00, and 14:00, each lasting one hour. It is free to attend but requires prior booking to ensure a comfortable experience for all participants.
