Discover a fun and engaging way for your children to learn about recycling and sustainability. These hands-on sessions are designed to inspire kids aged 8 and up to become environmental champions. Children will actively participate in sorting plastics and learn about the importance of recycling hard-to-recycle items.
Each session includes a unique opportunity to recycle a 2kg BRAD drop-off and create a carabiner made from recycled plastic to take home. Expert facilitators lead the sessions, ensuring a safe and educational experience.
Parents can feel confident knowing the sessions are supervised by staff with Working With Children Check (WWCC) certification, making this a trustworthy and enriching activity for school holidays.
The program offers multiple sessions tailored for two age groups: kids aged 8-12 and youth aged 13-16. Younger children require a parent or guardian to stay for the duration, while older youth can attend independently.
Sessions run for 90 minutes and include interactive learning about plastics, recycling processes, and practical actions kids can take to help the environment. This is a perfect school holiday activity that combines education with fun.
Booking is essential as spaces are limited, and the cost is $25 per child. This fee covers all materials and expert guidance.
The sessions take place at the Banish Sustainability Hub located at 490 Pitt St, Haymarket NSW 2000. This central location is easily accessible by public transport and offers a welcoming environment for families.
Parents are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early to settle their children and ensure a prompt start. The venue is equipped to support children and youth with all necessary materials provided.
- Children aged 8-12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, with one adult allowed per four children.
- Youth aged 13-16 can attend without a parent or guardian.

Tickets are $25 per child and must be booked online in advance to secure a spot. Multiple sessions are available on Thursday 9 April and Tuesday 14 April at different times for each age group.
Booking early is recommended as spots fill quickly during school holidays. This investment in your child's environmental education promises a rewarding and memorable experience.
