Activity Details

This ongoing monthly monitoring project runs from July 2 to September 24, 2025, with sessions starting at 11:00 and lasting approximately one hour. Each session involves a gentle walk along uneven ground, so appropriate footwear and clothing are recommended.

Participants will assist in viewing hollows through camera screens and help collect data from a safe distance. This hands-on involvement makes it a unique educational experience for children and adults alike.

The event is free to attend, making it accessible for families looking for enriching outdoor activities without the cost.

Location and Access

Meet at Willsmere Park Pavilion, located near the intersection of Willow Grove and Wattle Road in Kew East, VIC 3102. From there, the group will walk together to the glider hollows.

The venue offers accessibility features including quiet areas, wide passageways, and rest areas suitable for assistance animals, ensuring comfort for all attendees.

Public parking is available close to the pavilion, making it convenient for families traveling by car.

Important Information

Please bring a water bottle and be prepared for varying weather conditions as the activity takes place outdoors.

Participants must remain on paths and follow all instructions from Council staff to protect the wildlife and habitat.

No entry into bushland is permitted, and all wildlife observations are conducted via cameras to ensure minimal disturbance.
