You will engage in activities such as weeding, replanting native plants, and stabilising steep slopes, helping to preserve the natural beauty and biodiversity of the area. The group fosters a supportive and friendly atmosphere, ideal for meeting like-minded women passionate about conservation.
Whether you are a seasoned gardener or a beginner, the Bushcare officers provide guidance and support to ensure everyone can contribute meaningfully.
The group meets monthly on the third Thursday from 09:00 to 12:00, with daylight savings hours from 08:00 to 11:00. The sessions run until 17 December 2026, offering a consistent opportunity to make a positive impact.
Participants will be involved in a mixture of aesthetic gardening and bush regeneration tasks that help maintain the grounds of the ladies' baths and restore surrounding bushland.
This is a volunteer activity, so bring your enthusiasm and willingness to get hands-on in nature.
The activity takes place at McIvers Ladies’ Pool in Coogee, a scenic and accessible location along the Sydney coast. The pool area is well known and easy to find, providing a beautiful backdrop for your volunteer work.
Public transport options and parking are available nearby, making it convenient for local residents and visitors alike.
The site is outdoors, so dress appropriately for weather and terrain, and wear sturdy footwear suitable for gardening and bushcare activities.
Please note this group is exclusively for women, creating a safe and welcoming environment for female volunteers.
During daylight savings, meeting times shift earlier to 08:00 to 11:00 to make the most of daylight hours.
Volunteers should be prepared for physical activity involving bending, digging, and walking on uneven ground.
All necessary tools and guidance are provided by the council’s Bushcare officers.
Participation is free, but bookings are essential to ensure group size and resources are managed effectively.
