Learn to Code Your Own Arcade Game! (12-18 years)

Learn to use 'blocks' to build the code for your own unique arcade game. You will design the level, the characters and draw your own projectiles, enemies and more!

What to Expect

Calling all budding game designers! Join us for a fun and interactive workshop where you'll learn the basics of coding and create your very own arcade game. Using Microsoft 'Makecode' Arcade, you'll discover how to use 'blocks' to build the code for your game. You'll have the chance to design the level, create your characters, and even draw your own projectiles and enemies.

Once you've finished coding your game, it will be loaded onto our mini arcade-game machine and displayed in the library for everyone to play. So, come along, let your creativity soar, and show us what you can do!

- This workshop is suitable for ages 12-18.

- Bookings are required for each session you wish to attend.

- Bookings open approximately one month prior to each session.

- This event is for library members. If you're not a member yet, you can join online.

- If you are unable to attend the course, please cancel your ticket as soon as possible so others can participate.

- Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow the event to run on time.
