Learn to Code Your Own Arcade Game! (12-18 years)

What to Expect

This is a fantastic opportunity for young people aged 12-18 to learn the basics of coding and game design. Using Microsoft 'Makecode' Arcade, participants will learn to use 'blocks' to build the code for their own unique arcade game. They will design the level, the characters, and draw their own projectiles, enemies, and more! The finished games will be loaded onto a mini arcade-game machine and displayed in the library for everyone to play.

Activity Details

- Participants will learn the basics of coding and game design.

- They will use Microsoft 'Makecode' Arcade to build their own arcade games.

- The finished games will be loaded onto a mini arcade-game machine and displayed in the library for everyone to play.

Location and Access

The event will be held at Lionel Bowen Library in Maroubra. The library is located at 669-673 Anzac Pde, Maroubra.

Important Information

- The event is for ages 12 to 18 years.

- Bookings are required for each session you wish to attend. Bookings open approximately one month prior to each session.

- This event is for library members. If you aren't a library member yet, you can join online now.

- If you are unable to attend the course, please cancel your ticket as soon as possible. This will enable others to participate.

- The ticket is not transferable.

- Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow the event to run on time.

- Due to the safety and enjoyment of participants, we are unable to admit latecomers to the room after the start time.
