What to Expect
This exciting workshop invites children aged 6 to 10 to explore the world of coding through hands-on activities with Lego Spike Essential. Kids will work in pairs to build and program 3D moveable projects using a dedicated coding app, fostering teamwork and communication.
The session is designed to boost children's understanding of sequencing and coding concepts in a playful and supportive environment. Parents can expect their children to come away with new skills and a sense of accomplishment.
Activity Details
The workshop runs for 1.5 hours, providing ample time for children to engage deeply with the coding process. Activities include programming Lego models to move and respond, encouraging problem-solving and creative thinking.
Children will be paired in teams of two, which helps develop social skills such as taking turns and effective communication. The session is led by Jackie from Koala Bytes, an experienced instructor passionate about teaching coding to young learners.
Location and Access
The event takes place at St Ives Library, located at 166 Mona Vale Road, St Ives, 2074. The library is a welcoming community space with easy access and parking nearby.
Parents can drop off their children or stay to observe, making it convenient for busy families. The venue is well-equipped to support interactive workshops and provides a safe environment for children.

This workshop is strictly for children aged 6 to 10 years to ensure age-appropriate learning. Children should be prepared to work cooperatively in pairs.
Please ensure your child arrives on time to maximize their participation. The session encourages hands-on learning, so comfortable clothing is recommended.
