This engaging workshop is designed specifically for young people aged 16 to 25 who are stepping into the world of renting for the first time. It offers a supportive environment where participants can build confidence and gain essential knowledge about tenancy without any judgement.
You will learn the fundamentals of renting, including tenant rights and obligations. The session covers what to expect before, during, and at the end of a lease. Common do's and don'ts will be discussed, along with how to avoid rental issues and steps to take if problems arise.
The workshop is presented by an experienced Tenant Advocate from Sussex Street Community Law Services. It runs for one hour from 18:00 to 19:00 and is part of the Life Skills for Young People series held at Victoria Park Library. This session is free of charge and bookings are essential.
The event takes place at the Town of Victoria Park Library, located at 27 Sussex Street, East Victoria Park. The venue is accessible and welcoming, making it easy for young people and their families to attend.
