Little ArtLab offers a delightful hands-on creative experience designed especially for young children aged 3 to 5 years. Parents and carers can join their little ones as they explore the fascinating patterns and spirals found in seashells and garden snails. This session celebrates the opening of Aka Sorbie: Saltwater Heart in the Children’s Gallery with a bright and engaging nautilus shell-inspired art activity.
Children will practice drawing spirals, fill their shells with curvy waves, dots, and organic shapes, and have fun playing with stencils. The highlight is cutting out their spiral creations to watch them twirl in the wind, sparking joy and creativity.
The workshop encourages experimentation with repeated lines and vibrant colors, fostering early artistic skills and sensory play. Each child must be accompanied by an adult or carer who stays with them throughout the activity, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
This session is perfect for parents looking to engage their preschoolers in an inspiring art experience that connects them with nature and gallery exhibitions. It runs for one hour, providing a relaxed yet stimulating creative outlet.
The event takes place at HOTA Gallery, located at 135 Bundall Road, Surfers Paradise 4217. The gallery is accessible by public transport, and attendees are encouraged to use Translink’s journey planner for convenience.
Parking may be limited, so consider using the EasyPark app for metered parking to avoid fines. The gallery’s location within the vibrant Surfers Paradise area makes it an ideal spot for combining art with a day out.
Children must be accompanied by an adult or carer at all times; unsupervised children are not permitted. The activity is designed for ages 3 to 5, making it suitable for preschoolers exploring their creativity.
