What to Expect
Calling all mini scientists! This engaging 4-week program invites preschool aged children (4-5 years) and their caregivers to explore science through real scientific enquiry methods. Each session is designed to be fun and interactive, encouraging curiosity and discovery.
Throughout the weeks, children will collect and classify objects, measure and record data, conduct experiments, and finally showcase their learning at a Science Fair and Graduation. It’s a wonderful way to spark a love of science early on.
Caregivers act as lab assistants, making this a shared learning adventure that strengthens bonds while fostering scientific thinking.
Activity Details
The program runs every Thursday from 11:00 to 11:45 am over four weeks starting 4 June 2026. The weekly themes are:
- Week 1: Collecting & Classifying
- Week 2: Measuring & Recording
- Week 3: Experimenting
- Week 4: Science Fair & Graduation
The cost is $24.50, covering all four sessions. Bookings are essential to secure a spot.
Location and Access
All sessions take place at Umina Beach Library, located at the corner of West Street and Bullion Street, Umina NSW 2257. The library is easily accessible and a welcoming community hub.
Parking and public transport options are available nearby, making it convenient for families to attend.
Important Information
This program is tailored for preschool children aged 4-5 years and requires a participating adult to attend as a lab partner. The sessions are designed to be hands-on and interactive, so expect some delightful mess and lots of learning.
Early booking is recommended as places are limited. Please arrive a few minutes early to settle in.
