What to Expect
Celebrate Clean Up Australia Day with a fun and rewarding community event at Cook Park, Ramsgate Beach. This is a fantastic opportunity for families to come together, enjoy the outdoors, and make a positive impact on the local environment. Kids will love meeting Bart the Bin and exploring the Love Our Bay photo wall.
Volunteers will be equipped with collection bags, gloves, and litter pickers (while supplies last), and can also bring their own gear. The Bower will offer free bike checkups and tuning, plus a hydration station will keep everyone refreshed.
Return a filled rubbish bag to receive a free sausage sizzle and coffee voucher, making this a perfect morning outing for parents and children alike.
Activity Details
This event runs from 08:00 to 12:00 on Sunday, 1 March 2026. It is free to attend and open to all residents and visitors. Registration is encouraged either online or on the day to help with planning.
Council staff will provide roving support, directing volunteers to areas needing attention and supplying additional waste bags and gloves if necessary. All collected waste will be responsibly disposed of by the council.
Clean Up Australia Day is Australia's largest community-based environmental event, inspiring local communities to eliminate litter and protect their natural surroundings.
Location and Access
The event is held at Cook Park, Ramsgate Beach, opposite the Ramsgate Life Saving Club, located at 274-276 The Grand Parade, Ramsgate Beach NSW 2217.
The meeting point is on the grassy area opposite the Surf Life Club where a council marquee will be set up for volunteer check-in and supplies.
The park is easily accessible by car and public transport, with ample space for families to gather and participate comfortably.
Important Information
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring sun protection such as hats and sunscreen. Gloves and litter pickers will be provided but feel free to bring your own.
Stay hydrated by using the provided hydration station to refill water bottles throughout the morning.
Children should be supervised at all times to ensure safety while enjoying the activities and clean-up.

This is a free community event. Volunteers are encouraged to register online in advance to assist with event planning, but walk-ups on the day are welcome.
