Celebrate the Lunar New Year with a creative colouring-in competition designed especially for children aged 3 to 12. This event offers a wonderful opportunity for young artists to express their creativity while embracing the festive spirit of the Year of the Horse.
Children can participate in one of two age groups: 3-6 years and 7-12 years. Each participant will receive a special colouring-in sheet to decorate with their own unique style. The competition encourages imagination and artistic expression, making it a perfect activity for young families looking to celebrate the Lunar New Year together.

- Two age categories: 3-6 years and 7-12 years.
- Entries must be submitted by midnight Sunday, 15 February 2026.
- Winners will be contacted on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.
- Prizes include a $50 Anystore gift card for first prize and $25 gift cards for runners up.
This competition is hosted by the City of Ryde and is open to participants regardless of their place of residence. The colouring-in sheet is available for download online, allowing children to participate from the comfort of their own home. This makes it easily accessible for families across the region.
Participants must have parental or guardian consent to enter. Only one entry per child is allowed. Entries will be judged on creativity and uniqueness by City of Ryde staff. Selected entries may be showcased through Council’s communication channels with only the child’s first name and age displayed. City of Ryde staff and their families are not eligible to enter.
Participation in this competition is free. To enter, download the colouring sheet, complete it, and submit it by the closing date. Winners will be notified directly. This is a fantastic no-cost activity that combines cultural celebration with creative fun for children and families.
