What to Expect
Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of Binna Burra's World-Heritage forests as you learn to create a unique mini-book through nature journaling. This workshop encourages you to connect deeply with nature by drawing, writing, and using color to express your observations and feelings.
You will explore various creative techniques including collage to tell a story about the place and your discoveries. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced artist, this workshop welcomes all skill levels.
Nature journaling is a wonderful way to slow down, relax, and enhance your mindfulness while developing observation skills and self-expression.
Activity Details
The workshop runs on Saturday 28 February 2026 from 09:45 to 13:00. It is designed for adults aged 16 and over, but children aged 10 and above are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
Participants will walk 1-2 km over uneven and sloping terrain, so comfortable footwear and readiness for outdoor activity are important. The maximum class size is 25 to ensure a personal and supportive environment.
Materials such as paper, scissors, glue, rubber bands, watercolour pencils, paints, and brushes will be provided. You are encouraged to bring your own sketchbook or journal and preferred drawing materials to expand your creative options.
Location and Access
The workshop takes place at the Welcome Building, 1040 Binna Burra Rd, Binna Burra QLD 4211. This building is the first on your left after the Visitor Information Centre. If you reach the Binna Burra Teahouse, you have gone too far.
Binna Burra is known for its cooler temperatures, often 6-10 degrees lower than nearby Gold Coast or Brisbane, so dressing in layers is recommended. The outdoor setting requires preparation for weather and terrain.
