Unleash your creativity in this engaging mosaic workshop designed for beginners and those looking to refresh their skills. Under the expert guidance of mosaic artist Angela Biermann, you'll craft a beautiful medium-sized mosaic flower on a stake, perfect for your garden. This workshop offers a relaxed and supportive environment, ideal for exploring your artistic side while connecting with the community.
All materials needed for the workshop are provided, so you can focus on enjoying the process and creating a unique piece of art. Whether you're new to mosaics or have some experience, this session promises fun, learning, and a rewarding hands-on experience.
Closed-toe shoes and practical old clothes are recommended to ensure comfort and safety during the creative process.
This workshop runs on 24 March 2026 from 10:00 to 13:00. It is held at The Summit Community Centre in Norton Summit, South Australia. The mosaic flower you create will be approximately 24cm in diameter, mounted on a stake for easy display in your garden.
The course fee is $105, heavily discounted thanks to funding from Technology for Ageing and Disability SA Inc (TADSA). This makes it an accessible opportunity to engage in a creative and therapeutic craft.
Participants should wear closed-toe shoes and old clothes suitable for crafting. The session is designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all skill levels.
The workshop takes place at 4 Crescent Dr, Norton Summit SA 5136, Australia, at The Summit Community Centre. Parking is limited onsite, with an upper and a smaller lower carpark including one disabled parking space. Additional parking is available along Crescent Drive near Norton Summit Primary School and behind Norton Summit CFS.
The community centre is fully accessible, featuring a disabled car park, access ramp, and disabled toilet facilities. The venue is welcoming and inclusive, supporting LGBTQI+ community members, dementia-friendly practices, and breastfeeding mothers.
Facilities include toilets, baby change table, a function room, large foyer and patio area, small meeting room, and a fully equipped kitchen with a commercial dishwasher.
Closed-toe shoes are compulsory, and practical old clothes are recommended to protect your clothing during the workshop. The workshop will be cancelled without notice if an Extreme 75+ or Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating is declared for the Mt Lofty Ranges, with refunds or rescheduling offered.
Participants are encouraged to carpool due to limited parking. If the event were to be held at night, bringing a torch or phone light would be advisable, along with clothing suitable for cooler weather.
The community centre operates Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 15:00 and is closed on Fridays and public holidays. For enquiries, contact the centre during opening hours.
Tickets are available for $105, bookable online. This price reflects a significant subsidy from Technology for Ageing and Disability SA Inc (TADSA), making this creative workshop affordable.
Booking in advance is recommended due to limited spaces. Payment secures your spot and ensures all materials are provided for your mosaic flower project.
