Immerse yourself in the creative world of bookbinding with Rebecca Prince. This workshop invites you to design and craft your own art or writing journal from scratch, using a variety of beautiful materials. You will have the opportunity to select from a range of papers and create covers with patterned fabric offcuts and acid-free bookboard.
Alongside the hands-on crafting, you will learn hand-sewing techniques to bind your journal, resulting in a one-of-a-kind keepsake to take home. This event is perfect for parents looking to inspire creativity in their children or enjoy a relaxing artistic experience themselves.
While attending, you can also explore the SALA exhibition "Adelaide Hills Abundance," showcasing artwork inspired by the local flora, fauna, landscapes, and food.
This workshop is part of the SALA program and is designed to be accessible to all skill levels. It runs for two and a half hours, providing ample time to complete your journal and absorb the creative process.
You will be guided step-by-step through the bookbinding process, including choosing materials, designing your cover, and sewing the pages together. All materials are provided, so just bring your enthusiasm and creativity.
The session is suitable for adults and older children accompanied by a parent, making it a wonderful family-friendly activity during the school holidays.
The workshop takes place at 4 Crescent Dr, Norton Summit SA 5136, Australia, within the welcoming Summit Community Centre. The centre is easily accessible and offers a comfortable environment for creative activities.
Parking is available nearby, and the venue is open Monday to Thursday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Please note that the centre is closed on Fridays and public holidays.
In the event of an Extreme 75+ or Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating for the Mt Lofty Ranges, the Summit Community Centre will close, and all classes, including this workshop, will be cancelled without notice. Paid fees will be reimbursed or the course rescheduled.

Participants are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early to settle in and prepare for the session.
Tickets for this workshop cost $30 and must be booked online in advance to secure your spot. This fee covers all materials and instruction.
