What to Expect

This annual event is a feast for car enthusiasts and families alike, showcasing over 300 hand-selected classic and exotic vehicles in beautifully themed display zones. The village’s tree-lined, pedestrianised streets create the perfect backdrop for a day of automotive admiration and community fun.
Beyond the stunning cars, there’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained. Kids can enjoy a brand-new Kidszone featuring an airbrush tattoo parlour, balloon twisting, and a Big Head photo booth. Fashion lovers will delight in the colourful Costumi Classico vintage fashion showcase, open to everyone. For those looking to relax, the Tryit Ladies Lounge offers a champagne and canapé experience, while the Parisian-inspired French Quarter celebrates French motoring heritage.
The event culminates with an award ceremony at 14:30, recognizing the finest vehicles on display. With up to 20,000 visitors expected, it’s a lively community gathering that promises excitement and memorable moments for all ages.
Activity Details
Maling Road AutoClassico returns for its 9th year, presented by the Maling Road Business Association in partnership with the City of Boroondara and Bendigo Bank Inner East. The event is free to attend and runs from 10:00 to 15:00 on Sunday, 30 August 2026.

Maling Road will be closed to traffic from 06:30 to 16:30 to ensure a safe and enjoyable pedestrian experience.

The event takes place along Maling Road, Canterbury VIC 3126. This historic shopping village is fully pedestrianised for the day, making it easy and safe to explore on foot.
Public transport options and local parking are available nearby, but visitors are encouraged to plan ahead due to road closures. The tree-lined streets provide a picturesque setting perfect for a family day out.

This is a community-run event supported by the City of Boroondara through a Triennial Operational Grant. It is not organised or endorsed by the Council, and no responsibility is taken for any changes or cancellations.
Maling Road will be closed to vehicle traffic from 06:30 to 16:30 on the day of the event for safety.
Families are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the full range of activities and to bring comfortable walking shoes and sun protection.
Booking and Prices
Attendance is free for all visitors. No booking is required, making it easy for families to drop in and enjoy the day at their leisure.
Some activities within the Kidszone and lounges may have limited availability, so arriving early is recommended to secure a spot.
