Step into the enchanting world of Polynesian dance with Mana at Heart. This engaging event invites children and youth to learn traditional dances from Samoa, Fiji, Cook Islands, Maori, and Tonga. It's a wonderful opportunity for your child to connect with rich cultural heritage through movement and music.
Bring your lava lava and get ready to dance like Moana! The sessions are designed to be fun and educational, led by cultural elders who share stories and songs that bring the dances to life.
Whether your child is 7 or 18, there’s a session tailored to their age group, making it a perfect midweek cultural activity.
The classes are split into two age groups: 7-11 years from 13:00 to 14:00, and 12-18 years from 14:15 to 15:15. No bookings are required, so you can simply turn up ready to enjoy.
Participants should wear comfortable clothes suitable for dancing to fully enjoy the experience. The event is free of charge, making it an accessible cultural outing for families.
This is a recurring weekly event held on Wednesdays, providing a consistent opportunity to engage with Polynesian culture.
The event takes place at Emerton Youth Recreation Centre, located at 55 Copeland Rd, Emerton, NSW 2770. The venue is community-focused and easily accessible for families living in or near Blacktown.
