We're excited to offer Mornington Peninsula residents a fantastic opportunity to dispose of green waste at no cost during the March 2026 No Charge Green Waste Weekend. This event is designed to help you manage garden waste responsibly while keeping the community clean and green.
What to Expect
During this popular event, residents can bring garden waste and untreated timber to the Mornington Resource Recovery Centre free of charge. Expect some queues, especially in the mornings and late afternoons, as many take advantage of this offer. Please bring proof of residency such as a driver's license or rates notice.
Activity Details
- Event dates: Friday, 20 March to Sunday, 22 March 2026
- Opening hours: Friday 08:00-16:00, Saturday and Sunday 08:00-17:00
- Maximum of three cubic metres of green waste per trip
- Only residential vehicles and trailers accepted; no commercial vehicles or commercial green waste
- Customers may be prevented from joining queues after 15:30 on weekends and public holidays, and after 14:30 on weekdays to ensure timely closing

Important Information
This event is exclusively for Shire residents or ratepayers. Green waste includes all types of garden waste and untreated timber. If you regularly dispose of green waste, consider opting into the 240-litre fortnightly green and food waste bin collection service available to urban area residents.
