The workshop runs for 1.5 hours, starting at 13:00 and finishing at 14:30 on 25 May 2026. It is held at the Torrens Valley Community Centre in Gumeracha, a welcoming venue equipped with all necessary facilities.
No prior experience is needed, and the session is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for everyone. The cost is $15 per participant, which covers all materials.
Participants will learn basic basket weaving techniques and have the chance to create their own unique piece under the guidance of experienced instructors.
The event takes place at 45 Albert St, Gumeracha SA 5233, Australia, within the Community Hub that includes the Gumeracha Town Hall and library. Parking is available in three areas around the community hub, including disabled parking spaces.
The community centre is fully accessible, with ramps and disabled toilets available. It is an inclusive space welcoming all community members, including LGBTQI+ individuals and families with young children.
Public transport options are limited, so driving is recommended. The venue is well-lit and safe, with facilities such as a kitchen, baby change table, and comfortable meeting rooms.
The workshop will be cancelled if an Extreme or Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating is declared for the Mt Lofty Ranges, with refunds or rescheduling offered.
Participants are advised to dress comfortably and bring a torch or phone light if attending in low light conditions. Weather-appropriate clothing is recommended, especially during cooler months.
The community centre operates Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 15:00 and is closed on Fridays and public holidays.
Tickets are priced at $15 and must be booked online in advance to secure a place. Payment covers all materials needed for the workshop.
