This event is designed to help families responsibly manage garden waste and untreated timber, making it easier to keep your home and garden tidy while supporting environmental sustainability.
What to Expect
During this popular event, residents can bring green waste from their residential vehicles or trailers to the Mornington Resource Recovery Centre. Expect some queues, especially in the mornings and late afternoons, as many locals take advantage of this free service. Please bring proof of residency, such as a driver's license or rates notice, to access the service.

- Dates: Friday, 22 May 2026 to Sunday, 24 May 2026
- Times: Friday 08:00-16:00, Saturday and Sunday 08:00-17:00
- Location: Mornington Resource Recovery Centre, 134 Watt Road, Mornington 3931
- Limit: Up to three cubic metres of green waste per trip
- Only residential vehicles and trailers accepted; no commercial vehicles or commercial green waste

The event takes place at the Mornington Resource Recovery Centre, conveniently located at 134 Watt Road, Mornington. The site is accessible by car, and ample parking is available. Please note that to ensure timely closing, customers may be prevented from joining queues after 15:30 on weekends and public holidays, and after 14:30 on weekdays.
Important Information
This event is exclusively for Shire residents or ratepayers. Green waste includes all garden waste and untreated timber. If you regularly dispose of green waste, consider opting in for the 240-litre fortnightly green and food waste bin collection available to urban area residents.
