Each festive season, the Mayor of Camden invites residents to participate in the Christmas Giving Tree Appeal, a heartfelt initiative aimed at supporting families facing hardship in the local community. This year, the appeal proudly supports the Shining Stars Foundation, a mobile outreach service dedicated to providing essential assistance during the holiday season.
The appeal encourages donations of toys and non-perishable items to brighten the Christmas of those in need. Last year, community generosity enabled the distribution of over 200 hampers and more than 500 gifts. This year, the foundation anticipates an even greater need and continues to operate five distribution locations where families receive gifts and hampers directly. Donations can be made at designated Camden libraries or online.
