Me at 3 is a delightful weekly program designed especially for 3 year olds and their parents or carers. It offers a nurturing environment where little ones can explore foundational skills in a fun and interactive way. Each session focuses on building confidence and preparing children for their transition to school.
Children will engage with basics like the alphabet, pattern recognition, and phonic sounds, alongside recognising numbers 1-10 and counting in sequence. The program also supports the development of fine motor skills through crafts and tabletop activities, making learning hands-on and enjoyable.
Parents and carers will appreciate the emphasis on social skills such as sharing, emotion regulation, and communication, all vital for early childhood development.
The program runs every Thursday during the school term, providing consistent weekly sessions that build upon each other. Each lesson highlights a specific letter, number, or colour, integrating fine motor skill activities like using scissors, utensils, and buttons.
The curriculum is guided by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority’s (ACECQA) Developmental Milestones Document, ensuring age-appropriate and quality learning experiences.
Sessions last for 30 minutes, making it a perfect length to hold young children's attention without overwhelming them.
Me at 3 takes place at Mandurah Library, located at 331 Pinjarra Road, Mandurah WA 6210. The library is a welcoming and accessible venue, ideal for families with young children.
There are convenient transport options and parking nearby, making it easy for parents to drop in and enjoy the session with their child.
The library setting also encourages a love of books and reading, complementing the learning activities in the program.
This program is free of charge and runs only during the school term on Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:00 am. It is designed specifically for 3 year olds, so it’s a great opportunity to connect with other families in the same stage of early childhood.
Parents and carers are encouraged to participate actively to support their child’s learning journey.
Please arrive a few minutes early to settle your child and make the most of the session.
Attendance is free, and no prior booking is required, making it easy to join whenever you can. The program recurs weekly, so families can drop in regularly to build skills progressively.
For more information, you can contact the Mandurah Library directly or visit their website.
This is a wonderful, no-cost opportunity to give your child a head start in their educational journey while enjoying quality time together.
