What to Expect
Discover the art of mobile phone photography in a fun and engaging workshop designed for young creatives. Expert photographer Joel will guide you through capturing stunning images using your phone, focusing on finding interesting subjects in the local area. Whether your child is a budding photographer or just curious, this session offers simple editing techniques to enhance their photos.
This workshop is perfect for young people aged 10-25, with two tailored sessions to suit different age groups. No prior photography experience is needed, making it accessible and enjoyable for all skill levels.
Bring your own phone or camera, and all other materials will be provided. This is a fantastic opportunity to nurture creativity and develop new skills in a supportive environment.
Activity Details
The event takes place on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Youth Hive inside Knox Library, located at Level 3/425 Burwood Highway, Wantirna South.
There are two sessions available:
- Session 1: Ages 10-15, from 09:30 to 12:30
- Session 2: Ages 16-25, from 13:30 to 16:30
Each session lasts three hours, packed with hands-on learning and creative exploration. The workshop is free of charge, making it an accessible option for families.
Location and Access
The Youth Hive is conveniently located within Knox Library at Level 3, 425 Burwood Highway, Wantirna South, VIC 3152. The venue is easily accessible by public transport and offers parking nearby.
Knox Library provides a welcoming and safe environment for young people to learn and create. Parents can feel confident their children are in a supportive space designed for youth engagement.
Facilities at the library include comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi, and access to additional resources should participants wish to explore photography further.
Important Information
Participants should bring their own mobile phone or camera to the workshop. No previous photography experience is required, so beginners are encouraged to join.
All other materials needed for the session will be supplied by the organizers. The workshop is designed to be interactive and hands-on, so comfortable clothing is recommended.
Parents should ensure their children arrive on time for their respective sessions and are picked up promptly at the end of the workshop.
Booking and Prices
This is a free event, but registration is required to secure a spot in one of the two sessions. Spaces are limited to ensure a quality learning experience.
