This two-hour event runs from 18:00 to 20:00 on Saturday, 25 April 2026. It is a guided citizen science activity focusing on nocturnal insect biodiversity along Darebin Creek. Participants will use a LepiLED entomological light set against a white canvas to attract moths and other insects.
Dr Mata will provide expert insights into insect identification and the ecological importance of these species. The event is funded by Melbourne Water and the Australian Government’s Urban Rivers and Catchments Program, supported by the Darebin Creek Management Committee and City of Whittlesea.
