MyTime Việt • Peer group | Online & in person
A supportive community for Vietnamese-speaking parents of children with disabilities or developmental delays, meeting fortnightly online and in person.
What to Expect
Join a warm and welcoming community designed for Vietnamese-speaking parents and carers of children with disabilities, developmental delays, or neurodivergence aged 0-18 years. This peer group offers a relaxed and supportive environment where you can connect with others who truly understand your experiences. Facilitated by Vy Phan, the sessions include friendly conversations and may feature guest speakers on topics chosen by members.
It's a unique chance to share information, find encouragement, and take a break from appointments and therapy in a way that feels right for you. Whether you attend online or in person, you’ll be part of a caring community focused on mutual support and learning.
Activity Details
The group meets fortnightly on Thursdays during the school term, from 10:00 to 12:00 AEDT/NSW time. Sessions run on July 24, August 7, August 21, September 4, and September 18. Childminding services are not available, so please plan accordingly.
This program is free of charge and open to parents, primary carers, and family members of children with developmental concerns. You can choose to attend in person at Plumtree Children’s Services in Marrickville or join online if you are outside Sydney or unable to visit.
Location and Access
In-person sessions are held at Plumtree Children’s Services, Yabsley Avenue, Jarvie Park, Marrickville, NSW 2204. The venue is accessible and welcoming to families. If you prefer or need to join remotely, simply select the online option during registration to participate from home.
For more information or assistance with registration, you can contact the facilitator Vy Phan via email. The program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services through Playgroup NSW, ensuring it remains free and accessible.
Important Information
This group is specifically for Vietnamese-speaking families and is facilitated in Vietnamese to ensure comfort and understanding. It is designed to provide peer support rather than clinical therapy, offering a space to share experiences and learn from each other.
Please note that childminding is not provided, so children will need to be supervised by their carers during sessions. If you are a new member, you will need to register once to create your MyTime membership.
Sessions are held during school terms on a fortnightly basis, so please check dates carefully when planning to attend. The group values member input, so topics and discussions are shaped by participants’ interests and needs.
Booking and Prices
Attendance is free of charge, making this an accessible support option for families. Registration is required, especially for new members who must complete a membership form. Returning members can simply notify the facilitator of their attendance via email.
You can register online and choose either the in-person or online option. Early registration is recommended to secure your place and receive any updates about the sessions. For further details or help with registration, contact Vy Phan directly.
