Experience a powerful community gathering that celebrates truth-telling, culture, and the resilience of First Nations peoples. This event marks 50 years of NAIDOC, inviting everyone to come together in unity and respect. Dress in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander flag colours or your favourite Deadly Choices shirt to show your support.
The march offers a meaningful way for families to engage with Indigenous culture and history while enjoying a vibrant community atmosphere. It’s a chance for parents and children alike to learn and reflect on the ongoing journey of First Nations peoples.
The march begins at Queen Elizabeth Park at 10:00 AM and proceeds through Griffith Street to the NSW border. The event concludes with a Corroboree at Chris Cunningham Park, featuring cultural performances and community connection.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early to find a good spot and to wear comfortable walking shoes. The event is free and suitable for all ages, making it a perfect family outing during the school holidays.
The march starts at Queen Elizabeth Park, 60 Marine Parade, Coolangatta, and finishes at Chris Cunningham Park. Public transport or active travel options are recommended due to limited parking.
