What to Expect

Designed especially for children aged 6-12, this event encourages curiosity and respect for Indigenous heritage through interactive learning. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult, ensuring a supportive environment for all participants.

Activity Details
The event is split into three sessions held on Monday, 6 July 2026:
- Session one: 10:30 to 11:15 at Hornsby Library
- Session two: 11:30 to 12:15 at Hornsby Library
- Session three: 14:00 to 14:45 at Pennant Hills Library
Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes and focuses on sensory engagement with bushfoods. The program is educational yet fun, perfect for school-aged children during the school holidays.
Participants will gain insights into the cultural significance of bushfoods and their role in connecting people to the land.
Location and Access
Sessions take place at two accessible library locations in Hornsby Shire:
- Hornsby Library, 28-44 George St, Hornsby NSW 2077
- Pennant Hills Library
Both venues are family-friendly and easily reachable by public transport or car, with parking options nearby. The libraries provide a safe and comfortable setting for children and their accompanying adults.
Families are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early to settle in and prepare for the interactive session.

This event is free but requires prior booking to secure a place. Children aged 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult for safety and support.
