This community planting event focuses on native shrubs, grasses, and ground covers, contributing to the Native Understorey Project. Participants will be provided with gloves and planting equipment, making it easy and safe for everyone to get involved. Children are welcome but must be supervised, ensuring a family-friendly environment.
After the planting, enjoy a delicious BBQ with fellow community members, sharing stories and celebrating your contribution to the environment.
The event takes place on Sunday, 26 July 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00. It is suitable for all ages and experience levels, making it perfect for parents looking for a meaningful outdoor activity with their school-aged children.
Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing to stay comfortable during the planting. The event is free to attend, with all necessary tools provided.

The planting day will be held at 104 - 110 Newlands Road, Coburg North. The site is accessible via the Merri Creek Trail for those who prefer active transport options like walking or cycling.
Alternatively, public transport users can take Bus 526 to Coburg Swimming Pool on Murray Road, which is nearby.
Parking and other amenities are available, making it convenient for families to attend.
