What to Expect
Get ready for an exciting adventure with nature photographer Tom Covell! This workshop offers a unique opportunity to meet fascinating live animals such as leeches, ticks, cockroaches, spiders, and scorpions up close. After exploring the new Bloodsuckers exhibition, you'll learn how to capture stunning photos of these creatures and the surrounding nature.
Activity Details
Tom will guide you through techniques on framing the perfect shot, using lighting and angles effectively, and working with shadows to make your photos stand out. Following the indoor session, you'll head to the nearby gardens for a hands-on nature photography expedition. This workshop is designed for children aged 9 to 12 years and encourages creativity and observation.
Location and Access
The workshop takes place at the Australian Museum, located at the corner of William & College Streets, Sydney NSW 2000, in the Patricia McDonald Education Rooms on the lower ground floor. The gardens across the street provide a beautiful setting for the outdoor photography session.
Important Information
Participants should bring their own camera, tablet, or phone to use during the workshop. A limited number of iPads will be available to borrow on the day if needed. This event is perfect for school-aged children interested in nature and photography, offering a hands-on learning experience in a supportive environment.
