Put the fun back into mealtimes with this engaging and supportive healthy eating program designed specifically for parents and carers of young children. The nom! Children program offers practical strategies and nutritious meal ideas to help families establish lifelong healthy eating habits.
You will gain confidence in preparing meals that are both healthy and appealing to infants and toddlers, while learning how to reduce mealtime stress. The program also provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with other local parents and carers, sharing experiences and support in a friendly environment.
Families attending will receive valuable resources including recipe books, a shopping bag, a Let's Feed the Family parent guide, and a children's healthy eating plate to take home.
This free five-week program runs every Thursday morning, focusing on practical and easy-to-follow approaches to healthy eating. Sessions cover topics such as understanding food labels, food safety, lunchbox ideas, and managing busy family schedules and budgets.
The program is ideal for parents with children aged 0 to 5 years who want reassurance, new ideas, and support in fostering healthy eating habits from an early age.
Childcare is available at a small additional cost through the MARC Creche, making it easier for parents to attend.
The sessions take place at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre, located at 303 Pinjarra Road, Mandurah WA 6210. The venue is accessible and family-friendly, providing a comfortable setting for parents and children alike.
Convenient transport options and parking are available nearby, ensuring easy access for busy families.
The program is free to attend, but places are limited, so early booking is recommended to secure your spot. If childcare is needed, creche passes can be purchased separately.
This initiative supports a healthy and connected community by empowering families to make nutritious choices and build confidence in meal preparation.
By participating, you contribute to stronger, healthier families and communities through improved child health and wellbeing.
Attendance is free for all participants. Childcare at the MARC Creche is available for $6.50 per casual pass or $24 for a bundle of six passes.
Booking early is advised due to limited spaces. Registration forms for childcare can be requested when booking.
