What to Expect
Discover the joy of cooking healthy meals your family will love with the nom! Children's Cooking Workshop. This engaging program is designed specifically for parents and carers of young children aged 0-5 years, helping you gain confidence in the kitchen while teaching your little ones about healthy eating.
Each session is filled with fun, interactive activities and discussions that make learning enjoyable and practical. You'll spend an hour hands-on cooking quick, tasty, and low-cost recipes, followed by the chance to taste the meals you’ve prepared.
This workshop is perfect for busy parents wanting to make mealtimes less stressful and more enjoyable for the whole family.
Activity Details
The workshop runs over five consecutive Thursdays, starting from 4th June to 2nd July 2026. Each session lasts 2.5 hours, from 10:00 to 12:30.
You will learn essential skills such as choosing healthy foods for all ages, understanding nutrition for infants and children, reading food labels, packing safe snacks and lunchboxes, and planning meals on a budget.
Participants will receive free recipe books, a shopping bag, the "Let’s Feed the Family" parent guide, and a kid’s healthy eating plate to take home.
Location and Access
The workshop takes place at the Leisurelife Centre, Victoria Park. The venue is accessible and suitable for parents with bubs in prams. Please note, there is no creche available, so children should be accompanied.
Victoria Park is well connected and easy to reach by car or public transport, making it convenient for families in the area.
Important Information
This is a free program thanks to the Town of Victoria Park, but places are limited and bookings are essential.
The sessions are tailored for parents and carers of children aged 0-5 years, focusing on practical, family-friendly cooking and nutrition.
No childcare services are provided during the sessions, so please plan accordingly.
