What to Expect
Discover the fascinating Oaklands Wetland, a natural 'water factory' that cleans up to 400 million litres of stormwater annually. This guided tour offers a unique opportunity to see diverse wildlife including waders, cockatoos, ducks, and majestic river red gums.
You will learn about the wetland's water filtration system as water slowly moves through a series of ponds over three days before being injected into aquifers deep underground. This sustainable system irrigates more than 31 local parks, reserves, street trees, and playing fields.
Meet your knowledgeable guide David, a passionate volunteer, who will lead you through this immersive one-hour experience.
