This program offers seniors aged 60 and over the opportunity to borrow an iPad with free internet access for a month. It’s designed to help older adults become more confident with digital technology and stay connected with family, friends, and essential online services.
You’ll have access to 10 iPads available for lending at St Kilda Library, with the option to renew your loan once after the initial 4-week period. If you need help setting up or using your device, one-on-one advice sessions are available when you collect your iPad.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to reduce technological disadvantage among seniors and promote digital inclusion.
To participate, you must be a Port Phillip Library member and provide proof of age such as a Victorian Senior’s Card or Driver’s License showing you are 60 years or older. You will also need to provide address identification.
The lending period is four weeks, with the possibility to renew once. Assistance with Apple ID setup and basic iPad functions can be booked at the time of collection.
This program is funded in part by the Victorian Government’s Senior’s Digital Literacy grant, aiming to enhance digital skills and access for older adults.
The iPads are available for lending exclusively at St Kilda Library, located within the City of Port Phillip.
Library members can visit the library to collect their device and attend support sessions if needed.
