Step into a world of creativity and exploration with Palm Plaza Playwork's free activities designed for families and children. Each day offers a unique themed lab where kids can engage with different materials and sensory experiences. These sessions encourage imaginative play, collaboration, and cultural expression in a welcoming outdoor setting.
The activities are perfect for children who love to build, explore textures, and experiment with textiles. Parents can relax knowing their kids are engaged in safe, stimulating, and educational play.
This is a wonderful opportunity to spend quality family time outdoors while fostering your child's creativity and sensory development.
- Friday 2 October 2026: Construction Lab – Explore loose parts for building, connecting, and den-making. Children create their own structures using various materials.
- Saturday 3 October 2026: Sensory Lab – Discover clay, natural textures, soft textiles, and calming color palettes to support creativity and regulation.
- Sunday 4 October 2026: Textile and Weaving Lab – Experiment with textiles, ribbon, rope, and soft cord through collaborative weaving and sculptural play.
Each session runs from 10:00 to 13:00, and no bookings are required. Families can drop in and stay as long as they like.
The activities take place outdoors at Palm Plaza, located on McCrae Street, Dandenong. This central location is easily accessible by public transport and offers a safe, open space for children to play freely.
There are facilities nearby for families, and the outdoor setting ensures plenty of fresh air and room for social distancing if needed.
