Get ready for a delightful and imaginative outdoor activity perfect for children who love to create and explore. At Pet Rocks in the Park, kids will have the chance to paint, name, and personalize their very own pet rock. This hands-on event encourages creativity and playful interaction with nature.
Once decorated, children can hide their pet rocks at designated tree stations throughout the park, turning the area into a magical rock hunt for others to enjoy. All art supplies are provided, so just bring your child's imagination and enthusiasm!
This event is designed to engage young minds in a fun, social setting that combines art with outdoor adventure, making it an ideal activity for families looking to enjoy the fresh air and creative expression together.
The event runs every Friday evening throughout February 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Each session offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where kids can freely express themselves through art.
Participants will find the Pet Rock station at the Event Information tent located at the Festival Hub within the park. This central spot makes it easy to join in and find assistance if needed.
The activity is free of charge, making it accessible to all families in the community. It is suitable for school-aged children and encourages parental involvement to enhance the experience.
Pet Rocks in the Park takes place at the Camberwell Civic Precinct, located on Camberwell Road, Camberwell VIC 3124. The precinct is a welcoming outdoor space ideal for family activities.
The event area is accessible by public transport and has nearby parking options for those driving. The park’s open layout allows for easy supervision of children while they participate in the creative fun.
Families are encouraged to arrive a little early to explore the park and find the Festival Hub where the Pet Rock station is set up.
All materials needed for painting and decorating the pet rocks are provided on-site, so there is no need to bring supplies. However, wearing clothes that can get a little messy is recommended.
The event is weather dependent; in case of inclement weather, updates will be provided by the City of Boroondara.
Parents and guardians should accompany their children to ensure safety and to share in the creative experience.
This is a free event with no booking required. Families can simply turn up during the scheduled times on Fridays in February 2026.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a cost-free, creative outing that encourages community engagement and outdoor play.
