Immerse your young aspiring photographer in a unique mentorship experience designed especially for young people with disability aged 18 to 25. This program offers a rare chance to learn directly from professional photographers in real-world settings across Darebin, helping to build skills and community connections.
Participants will engage in three one-on-one mentorship sessions, each lasting 90 minutes. These tailored workshops focus on practical photography skills, allowing mentees to explore their creativity and gain hands-on experience. The sessions will take place on April 7, 8, and 9, 2026, with exact times and locations confirmed upon acceptance.
This free program is part of the Good Access is Good Business initiative, aiming to provide practical work experience in photography. It is open to young people with disability who live, study, or work in Darebin. No prior photography expertise is required, just a passion or interest in photography. A youth support officer will be present to ensure accessibility and support.
Workshops will be held at local business locations within Darebin, including Preston and Reservoir areas. Exact venues will be communicated to successful applicants. The program is committed to accessibility and will accommodate any access requirements discussed with participants.
Applicants must be aged 18-25, identify as a person with disability, and have a strong connection to Darebin. The application period runs from October 23, 2025, to February 15, 2026. Only fully completed applications submitted by the deadline will be considered. Participants must commit to attending the scheduled sessions as rescheduling is not possible.
The program is completely free. Interested candidates must complete the official registration form and answer application questions thoughtfully. Successful applicants will be contacted directly by Darebin City Council. For inquiries, contact the council via phone or email as provided.
