The event runs on Sunday, 6 September 2026, with two session times available: 08:30 to 10:00 and 10:30 to 12:00. Participants will plant native trees and groundcovers, helping to create important habitats for local wildlife.
You will learn about the plants and their role in supporting biodiversity in the area. This hands-on activity is suitable for all ages and encourages family participation.
Please bring your own gloves and water bottle to stay comfortable and hydrated throughout the session.
The event takes place at Heffron Park, Maroubra, a spacious and accessible outdoor venue ideal for family activities. The park offers plenty of open green space and is well-known in the community.
Heffron Park is accessible by public transport and has parking facilities nearby. It’s a great spot to enjoy fresh air and nature within the Randwick City area.
Please wear sturdy shoes, long sleeves, long pants, a hat, and sunscreen to protect yourself while working outdoors. The event will proceed rain or shine, but updates will be sent by email if there are any changes due to weather or public health regulations.
