Experience the joy of connecting with nature and your community by planting native species on Wangal Country. This event is part of a national movement to plant 96,500 native plants across Australia, fostering biodiversity and green spaces.
You and your family will help bring habitats to life, attracting colorful birds, sun-loving lizards, and buzzing native insects. It’s a wonderful opportunity to teach children about environmental stewardship while enjoying the outdoors.
Feel the satisfaction of contributing to a greener future and be part of a project powered by Bupa and Landcare Australia through the Healthy Cities Landcare Grant.
The planting day will take place on 30 May 2026 from 10:00 to 12:00. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to participate in this hands-on environmental activity.
You will be planting native species to help create a green corridor connecting McIlwaine Park, Rhodes Park, and the Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway.
Please register your attendance in advance to secure your spot and help the organizers plan effectively.
The event will be held at Brays Bay Reserve, located within the City of Canada Bay local government area in Sydney.
This accessible outdoor location offers a beautiful setting for families to engage with nature and community.
Public transport and parking options are available nearby, making it easy to bring the whole family along.
This event acknowledges the Wangal people as the traditional custodians of the land.
Wear comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activity and bring a water bottle, hat, and sunscreen to stay protected.
All planting tools and native plants will be provided by the organizers.
Volunteering at this event supports local biodiversity and promotes sustainable urban environments.
Attendance is free, but booking is essential to participate.
Please register your attendance through the City of Canada Bay Council’s website or contact them directly for more information.
